MTV's True Life - Casting [04 Mar 2009|02:23pm]

mtvtruelife
Hi Guys

My name is Jennifer and I am a casting associate at MTV.  Right now we are casting for an upcoming episode of True Life.  For this episode, we are looking for people who are at odds with their parents for one reason or another.  Whether it is because of your major, relationships, or your lifestyle, MTV is interested in hearing your story.  I would also appreciate if you could pass it along to anyone else you may know.

You can email your situations to Parents@mtvnmix.com with their name, age, location, phone number, and recent photo.

Thanks, and feel free to message me with any questions
Jennifer

Stafford Loans come due 1/15! I never got anything in the mail! Tell your friends! (it takes 2 days for payment to go through if you pay online)

I am going through my Stafford Loan repayment stuff, and I have discovered that, although my loans come due in December, SallieMae has not bothered to use my email address or phone number to notify me that they have an invalid address for me.

If you have a Sallie Mae Loan, they may still have your 222 Church address as your current one, and you could be headed for a fucking over

Good luck everyone!

Work Homecoming/Family Weekend!! [10 Oct 2007|02:49pm]

tonita
Short on cash? Love schmoozing? These are just a couple reasons to apply to work for Homecoming/Family Weekend.

The jobs are pretty easy and generally enjoyable. There are many opportunities, ranging from assisting families at registration to helping out at the Inauguration to driving shuttles!

Seniors are welcome to apply as well! If you're over 21, apply to be a shuttle driver! It's a pretty sweet job, carting around gracious parents and alums in a plush minivan.

Applications will be accepted until Tuesday October 16, with the application closing at 5 pm. We will notify you of your employment status no later than Thursday October 18.

FYI: There will be a mandatory student worker meeting on Wednesday, October 31 at 5:30 PM, location TBA. Workers will be given their schedules at this time.

The application can be found at www.wesleyan.edu/hcfw/students/final.htm.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at interns@wesleyan.edu or at 860-685-2418.

Thanks for your interest!

Thursday, 7 PM
Clark Lounge
Antony Hamilton and Peter Wright
Presented by H.A.R.D.C.O.R.E.

Two experimental musicians here all the way from New Zealand. You can hear some of Antony's music here and Peter's site is here. They've mentioned using an "amplified fish cooker" in their performance, so what on earth are you doing anywhere else? Also, no opening acts, so get there at 7 (will probably end around 8:30 - 9).

hello. my name is rebecca, and i'm abroad.

unfortunately, i did not make proper housing arrangements last semester, and now it looks like i'm screwed for next semester. so:

1. anyone going abroad whose living space hasn't been filled yet? if not you, then do you (reader) know of anyone?

2. for people who may have been in my situation before - what did you do? were you completely screwed over by reslife? is there any hope?

any help would be amazing for me right now. either comment here or e-mail me - rgitlin@wesleyan.edu

thanks!

Hello Wesleyan,

I just lost my ride home to NYC. I know many people here live in New York,
and I was wondering if anyone would be willing to give me a ride.
Obviously I will provide gas money - and good company. Please, please,
PLEASE, if you are going to New York next week and have extra room, email
me and let me know when you're leaving. Thank you!!!

coming out of the closet [17 Nov 2005|01:51pm]

rachellaurach
Have you come out to your parent or parents since coming to Wesleyan?

Do you identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, flexual, queer, questioning, or sexual-minority?

Are you a current Wesleyan student or recent alum?

Are you willing to participate in a confidential interview about your experiences?

I'm writing a senior thesis about the coming out experience and would appreciate your input.

Please contact me at rwertheimer at wesleyan.edu for more information.

Thank you!

The Handprint [07 Oct 2005|11:02pm]

baronpnorab
Dear anyone at wesleyan who would like to have their non-fiction published in a literary magazine. You should email it to me (pbaron@wesleyan.edu) for consideration in this semester's Handprint. Submissions should be about 4 pages long, double spaced, and are due by November 1st. We'll also be considering poetry submissions and any art you'd be into submitting, so send along anything you think we might be interested in. Thanks.

Oh, also, there's a $50 prize for our top pick.

iPod News [02 Jun 2005|11:28pm]

loveismywine
I just wanted to let everyone know that I just heard something rather important and awesome for iPod owners on the news:

There's a class action suit against Apple for the quality of iPods, specifically their battery life, which is pretty pathetically short. The long and the short of it is that if you have your reciept or factory ID and you go on the Apple website or call their helpline or do any sort of basic research, you should be able to register to recieve the following:

-A new battery
-$50 rebate
-Lengthened warranty

I've heard countless people bitching and moaning about their iPods in the past months. Here's your chance to get something back.

Hope you're having a great summer

I once frequented this community in the past. I then went to Haverford instead. It now looks like I might transfer to Wes, but I have to decide by tommorow. Can someone tell me something? Nothing in particular, just something will help. This isn't the easiest decision. Vague? Nah.

So, I used to frequent this community in years past. I then went to Haverford instead. Now it looks somewhat likely that I will transfer to Wes. Unfortunately, I have to make this decision by tommorow. Can someone tell me something? Nothing in particular, just something will help. Thanks a mill.

Yesterday I found a blue nokia/cingular phone in the CFA, on the grass between the Cinema/Zilkha Gallery. I turned it into public safety, so if it's yours you can go get it.
